Follow these 4 steps to make the mess "go away"
1) If you know where the water shut off is, turn off the water. In most cases, the water shut off valves are installed under the plumbing fixture. There is a valve above the hot water tank that can be used if the hot water tank is flooding the home. Or, if you see water coming out of the walls and ceiling, its best to shut the main water valve off. This valve is usually (not always) located in the furnace room. 2) Call us, we will come out to find and repair the leak. North Calgary- 403 286-0711 South Calgary- 403-253-1110 3) Call a disaster restoration company. You will find these companies under the heading "Fire and Water damage and Restoration" in the Calgary Super pages. They will come out and get the clean-up started day or night. 4) Call your insurance company and make a claim. If you are not insured, make sure you can afford the cost of the companies you are going to hire. Ask for quotes, see what you can do yourself. Ask for help from your friends and family. |
